The participation in this highly prestigious conference organized by IFToMM is mostly due to the presentation of the work done in the development of a wheel-rail contact model which resulted in the publication called “Approach for Conformal Contact Detection for Wheel-Rail Interaction”. For me, it is of paramount importance to present my work for this scientific community which certainly has high expertise in the field and with whom I can exchange ideas and comments about previous and future works. This conference also seems the perfect opportunity to me to see the recent developments in mechanism and machine science in which I have highly interest, as well as to meet researchers from other institutions and expanding my network.

The main expenses for attending this conference are the registration fee (250 €), the airplane travel (about 250 €), board and lodging (about 300 €), which results in a total of 800 €. Unfortunately, my home university is not able to pay this expenses as it is explained in the attached letter. Nevertheless, I have a budget from my PhD to attend this kind of meetings of about 200 € per year, which I will be happy to use for the EuCoMeS 2018.
